The Esoterrorists, from Pelgrane Press, is the first game published using the Gumshoe system which was designed expressly for facilitating invesigative games. It came out in 2007, with a Second Edition arriving in 2013 - more an expansion to the rules than a re-writing of them.

Characters are elite investigators combating the plots of the Esoterrorists, a loose affiliation of occult terrorists intent on tearing the fabric of the world asunder. The system is narrative-based, although characters still have skills to roll dice against.
